Assalamu alaikhum wa rahmatullahi wa barakuhu.

Bismillah,

The Islamic Center of Seattle - Masjid As-Salaam is honored to welcome our new Imam, Shaykh AbdulBary Yahya.
Sh. AbdulBary Yahya is from Seattle, Washington, a native of Masjid Assalam, it was the first Masjid he attended at a young age, where he is now our new imam. We are extremely excited to have him back to lead us inshaAllah!

Sh. AbdulBary Yahya knew early-on, in order to be successful that our leaders needed to make sure they spoke the language of our youth and the country they lived. As a youth, he decided to pursue an education in Islamic studies and was one of the first young local Muslims to be chosen to study Islamic theology overseas.

Sh. AbdulBary Yahya attended the Islamic University of Madinah and graduated from the faculty of Shariah, studying under many of the well-known scholars of Madinah during his time like Sh. Atiyah Salim, Sh. Muhammad al-Mukhtaar as-Shanqeeti and others.
Sh. AbdulBary Yahya developed a deep understanding of Islam through his formal training and upon graduation from the Islamic University of Madinah's College of Shariah, he traveled to Vietnam and Cambodia and became a teacher and director of the Umm al-Qura Charity Organization in Vietnam.
Sh. AbdulBary Yahya is an instructor of AlMaghrib Institute where he teaches many topics such as Fiqh, Tafsir, and Seerah. Over the years he has been seen lecturing on Peace TV a Dawah satellite television network broadcasting globally 24/7 from Dubai.

In Shaykh AbdulBary, we find an imam who speaks English, grew up in America, and is very knowledgeable Islamically. He has a very strong background in theology and understands the critical issues facing our society, he’s courteous and truly caring.
Masjid As-Salaam welcomes our new Imam, Shaykh AbdulBary Yahya.
